Should I attempt college again

Should I attempt college again?

Hello there. Thanks for taking time to read my question, I really appreciate it. I am 34 with 4 kids and I have attempted college twice and quit or flunked out. It seemed I was always looking for something new to do and would easily get bored with things. I could easily enough understand the material in all my classes but something would always have my time and my attention. Fast forward 10 or 12 years and now I am 34 with no degree and about to relocate to my home state. A recent diagnosis of ADHD has answered a lot of questions I had and the steps taken to control my behaviors are working well. I have since learned to focus and stay on topic. Since I have no degree and work at menial, low pay jobs, I was wondering what you thought about my trying college again? I want to go for Mechanical engineering and it would take around 5 years or more depending on the time I will have to devote to classes. I will still have to work a full time job to care for my family. Do you think I should give it a go or would it be another waste of time and money?

Do It, Til You Make It

Congratulations to you on bringing up 4 children into the world. A mother’s love is a wonderful thing.

Thomas Edison tried One thousand times before he got the light bulb and the world out of darkness into light. With each attempt he discovered what didn’t work and it put him closer to what did work. So it is with you. You have discovered how easy it is for you to understand your lessons. Now you’ve learned how to control your attention. The next step forward is organizing your time to make everything in your life work in harmony with each other as best as you can. Education is the foundation for preparedness. When you are prepared for the opportunities that come your way then Success can surely follow.

Everyone should follow there dream, despite what may be perceived as obstacles. Put a solid plan together and are already in preparation and well on your way, because of what you learned about your potential to make dream work for you. It is your choice and its all about how you look at it. Make it work for you, and for your family. Make it fit your world, so that your world becomes better for it.

Living with Motivation

by Linda
(California)

I am married to a self-proclaimed motivation guru. He’s been to numerous Tony Robbins seminars, Dale Carnegie classes, Steve Linder seminars, done all of Tony Robbin’s programs, read libraries full of self-improvement books by countless authors, and the list goes on.

My question is, how do you live harmoniously with a person like this when you think most of it is a bunch of bologna?

I’m about ready to pull my hair out and just end the marriage. He has been out of work for nearly six years (most of our marriage) but continually working on the “next great business” (usually based somehow on all his motiviation/self-improvement skills) which will make us millions.

We have a huge collection of business cards, promotional pens, wristbands and postcards that just sit around collecting dust and never saw the hands of a potential client.

One of his excuses for not getting things going is MY unwillingness to use the tools as taught by all the experts he’s read and learned from. Why doesn’t he just use the tools himself and get his business off the ground? He says he needs a team, no one can do it on their own. Bla bla bla.

I support him every way I can – I pay all the bills, allow him to purchase what he needs for his business (which also caused me to file for bankruptcy because everything was in my name), work full time, assist him with his business when he asks (proof reading, providing opinions on the look of something, etc.), tell him he’s doing a good job but I refuse to bank my future on a vision board and The Secret and just waiting for something to land in our laps.

I believe in working to get what you want, not wishing upon a star and giving a half-assed effort to achieve your goals.

Sorry I rambled.

Thank you for your time.

What is Your Motivation
by: Mr. Potential

Hello Linda,

Thank you for sharing your story. In marriage the key is communication and compromise. However, in order to communicate effectively with someone else and to come to an effective compromise you have to be clear about your own goals in life including your marriage. In your explanation, you explained much about your husband?s goals and what he wants to do but not much about what you want out of your own life. Many people spend a lot of time, money and resources to find what they are looking, when all they have to do is stop looking, because all they need is within. It?s easy to pay lip service to a cause or belief, but doing the real inner work of controlling your thoughts, emotions and feelings are the key.

So, take a moment for yourself and reflect upon your own life where you are now and where you want to be and how you can get there. When you sort out these questions for your life, you be able to re-evaluate your place in your marriage, and be able to set new guidelines for success in your marriage that you can communicate with your husband and not feel as stressed. You have to be happy first, before you can be happy together.

SBI 3 Column Templates

SBI 3 Column Templates

by John Kennedy
(Los Angeles)

Love the look and feel of your site. I am a new SBI’er. I love the program they offer, and I am currently taking their E course and learning a great deal.

My question:

I am not to fond of the SBI templates, and know they recently released the 3 column templates. For someone like myself who does not know CSS, is it easy to import the new 3 column templates into the SBI block builder.

If so, do you have any information on how this is done. I am looking for something that is simple…something like what you have…very basic.

Thanks for any assistance you can provide!

SBI Day 4

SBI Day 4

by Ruth
(Australia)

Hi Mr. Potential,

I wonder if you can help me. I’m currently on day 4 on the SBI action guide and I have done a lot of work this week. Ten hours each day.
I have quite a clear plan of what website I want to create – but I’m unsure about my web address and if it is too broad.

The idea is to do with free accommodation whilst travelling. I have been doing House Swaps for over twenty years and in the last four years have been involved in house-siting and couch-surfing. I have lots of tips, ideas and stories to share and feel I have mapped out a pretty good plan.

When I used the Site Info tool today with my keywords I found the huge travel websites and ezine sites came up. I wonder if it will be impossible for me to compete with these site?

Many thanks

Ruth

Answer

Hello Ruth,

Yes, the travelling websites are very competitive, however, they do not focus primarily on your interest. You have a great opportunity to focus and drilldown on your topic and interest in a way that they travelling website do not. Just make sure your keywords are in demand. Make sure you evaluate what information these top competitors are and are not focusing on as it relates to your interest.

Also, as you fine tune your specific main keywords you will find other competitors that are closer to your theme. Keep you the good work and take your time. You are at a major turning point and you should not be in a hurry.

ps. Please, feel free to submit any further questions on my website’s “ask the coach” page or you you can also use the SBI forum, where there are so many others you have experiences they can share with you. You can also click here to get further support for your Site Build It questions.

Many thanks for your reply
by: Ruth

Hi, Darryl,

Many thanks for your reply. That is very helpful.
I sent you that email in my morning and as I’m in Australia the times are very different. So I had all day to work a few things out and look at keywords do a site info search. This was very enlightening and I feel quite excited with what I found. I also read a post from ‘B’ on the SBI forum which was talking about keywords and site info together – this was really interesting as I found when a did a specific search for the type of travel and holidays I’m focusing on, the competition was quite low and the only other pages were blogs and emags.

So i’ll continue to do my research and make sure I’m on the right track. I haven’t rushed at all – I’ve been working on this for about 6 weeks. I always like time to digest information.

Many thanks again.

Ruth

Question:

Totally Lost!!! not understanding how to use it. any suggestions?

thanks

cinnamon

Answer:

by Mr. Potential
Hello Cinnamon,

Brainstormer is a keyword brainstorming and researching tool.

According to Site Build It’s (SBI) Brainstormer Help guide,

“there are two types of brainstorming Functions: Vertical and Lateral. Each has several different Resources (queries) available.

Vertica brainstormingl generates keywords that contain the Seed Word (ex., if you enter “anguilla,” all brainstormed keywords will contain “anguilla”).

Lateral brainstormingl generates keywords that are related to the Seed Word but do not contain it (ex., if you enter “anguilla,” a lateral word is “caribbean island”).

You don’t need to use all the brainstorms to determine your Site Concept Keyword. During DAY 2 of the Site Build It’s (SBI) Action Guide, you choose your Site Concept, or niche, using…

Vertical Brainstorm > Site Concept Finder

Cinnamon, I cannot emphasize this enough that the key to understanding all of SBI’s core concepts, procedures, tools, and resources is through reading and watching the Action Guide Documents and Videos as many times as necessary. Personally, I read and watched the Action Guide several times. Because all the case studies before me preached its fundamental importance to one’s success. So, the more I studied the material the more I understood.

With that being established upfront, Day 2-4, especially Day 3 of the Action Guide will walk you through the processes for describing the Brainstorm It tool’s functionality and how to use it step by step. After you have exhausted the SBI video and document resources, you can also review the Site Build It forums.

Among the many forum Categories and topics being discussed there is forum specifically for Brainstorm It. This is where anyone can review threads on various topics and members can ask and answer questions to help each other in the SBI member community.

I am available to help you answer your specific questions about SBI, including the Brainstormer tool, using my SBI experience and the resources I have shared with you in my response, if you do not find the answer on your own.

Cinnamon, have you ordered Site Build It? If you own SBI there is also a Brainstormer help link on the front page of the Brainstormer tool.

For more information, click here where I discuss how I built a successful website using SBI and decided to be an affiliate.

These are my suggestions to you.

Also, I am available to answer questions relating personal coaching help, self, process and performance improvement.

I hope this helps. Let me know if I can be of further assistance. Thanks for your inquiry.

What Kind of Website Should I Build

What Kind of Website Should I Build?

by DeAngelo

Question:

I have an Indie Record Label and my main goal is to start a website promoting the label as well as the music we put out, but I would like some advice as to the type of site I should start!!

I believe if you have a fan base for what your promoting it is much more realistic to be able to create a pretty good cash flow from digital downloads, Ringtones, merchandise, and so forth.

1. Should I start this site using site build it?

2. If not site build it then who? (WordPress, etc!!)

3. Being that I will have my own product for sale, will it be a bad idea to have Adsense on my site?

4. Should I learn HTML, CSS, and SEO?

5. I also want to start an affiliate marketing site using Adsense with the primary focus being the music niche, should I just focus on my record label’s music site or can both be done and integrated together?

I would like anyone’s advice, from who has any experience in these fields and I want to thank you ahead of time as your thoughts and time you take to share them is greatly appreciated!!

God bless!!

1. As a singer performer and webmaster I’ve discovered the important common thread that will manner most in one’s website concept and creation. It is all about the content. The success of your artist is in direct relationship to the quality and depth of the content package he or she delivers to the audience. Online the same is true for the content you deliver to your visitors to your website.

DeAngelo you have all the right answers inside you, and Site Build It (SBI) can help you determine the best site concept for your business. Since your business is a service, checkout SBI member case studies of several service e-businesses.

2. Although, WordPress is a wonderful tool for blogging and building content, it cannot guide you through this process of website concept and creation.

3. If you follow the SBI Action Guide, it will show you how to monetize your website systematically with multiple monetization models.

Yes, it is possible to sale your own products and add google adsense ads on your website. SBI is so generous, they even let you review much of the Action Guide for free. But you will have to purchase the program to get access to all of the tools and resources they have available to you. SBI’s products and services are more than worth its price.

4. Learning is constant with being a successful website owner. HTML, CSS and SEO are all important topics to learn, however, I would recommend learning the basic process of building a website by following SBI’s Action Guide and using their blockbuilder to build your website.

It is so easy to get overwhelmed with information overload, that I would recommend to start learning these topics after you get your Indie Record Label website launched using SBI, and get comfortable with the SBI process. Then you can start learning other useful topics.

5. A music niche and Affiliate marketing can be integrated together into one site, if you got your site concept setup in an effective manner. The following are important facts to consider in your website integration:

• Your site concept,
• Building your niche and,
• Writing good quality content.

Then applying sound monetization models like affiliate marketing can work for you.

SBI’s Action Guide can help you meet all of these requirements. For more information, click here where I discuss how I built a successful website using SBI and decided to be an affiliate.

I hope this helps. Let me know if I can be of further assistance. Thanks for your inquiry.
